The Lakeway Transit Service, which began operating in 2021, and provides 3 fixed bus routes on a pulse system throughout the city of Morristown. These routes are vital in helping individuals maintain or gain self-sufficiency by taking passengers to various places such as grocery stores, doctor’s appointments, work, and various other desired locations.
About Lakeway Transit
Lakeway Transit operates four vehicles on fixed route service Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 6:00pm. The system also operates two vehicles for Lift passengers during the same service hours.

LAMTPO & ETHRA, in partnership with WSP USA and Fairpointe Planning, LLC, are moving forward with the Lakeway Transit Center Feasibility project and are seeking public engagement to kick-start the assessment process. The goal of this project is to assess the needs of Lakeway’s transit system and find a suitable location for the transit center, further benefiting the current fixed route and paratransit services to Hamblen and Jefferson Counties.
